Mona’s Offers Thanksgiving Cheer!

Not only does Mona’s Cocktail Lounge bartender Jason, make some of the most delicious bloody Mary’s we have ever had on Sundays, but this local watering hole traditionally gives back for the holidays!

Established in 1997, owner Jerry Schultz named his bar after his dog Mona, and his backyard patio is named after his other dog, Lisa. This neighborhood bar is a great place to have fun, enjoy their daily specials, and meet friends, old and new. One of the great things about this bar is that they have always given back to the community. Whether it is through holiday toy collections, food drives, or making donations to local organizations, like The Pet Project for Pets, it seems the owner and staff are always doing something for our community.

This year is no different! On Thursday, November 28, Mona’s will be hosting their annual “Thanks for Giving” parade of pot luck event. There is no cost to attend, but guests are asked to bring a favorite dish to add to the pot luck. Some of their popular favorites on hand will be Dean’s hams, Jerry’s Polish sausage with red cabbage, Cory’s turkey and red beans with rice, Tommy’s holiday cookies, as well as surprise dishes by Jason, Jay, and Dan. Please bring a favorite dish to share and you will also enjoy what other guests are bringing to the table!

Mona’s Cocktail Lounge is located at 502 E. Sunrise Blvd, in Fort Lauderdale, across from the Home Depot. They are open daily at noon until 2am, except on Fridays and Saturdays when they are open until 3am. Stop in and enjoy this unique gay bar for a game of pool, a delicious cocktail, or like we said, on Sundays, try one of Jason’s famous bloody Mary’s with all the trimmings and ask for the cucumber vodka, which makes it so refreshing!
