Kayaking Around Wilton Manors

One of our most favorite things to do on a day off, is to take ourselves outside and enjoy a healthy kayak tour around the island of Wilton Manors. The City of Wilton Manors is considered the “Island City” due to it’s location, being surrounded by canals and waterways. If you have never taken a trip around the island, it’s a great time and you get to see so many natural wonders that we don’t get to enjoy while driving on the roads.

During the holiday season, the weather has cooled off a bit, the rains are not as heavy as during the summer months, and some of the homes on the water have decorated for the holidays. This is the perfect time to get out there on a paddleboard or a kayak and enjoy the nature, the birds and all the lizards, and to get a great workout. Kayaking around Wilton Manors will take approximately three to five hours, depending on your skill level and your motivation.

A great place to rent a kayak or paddleboard, take lessons, or enjoy some of their activities, is Sunrise Paddleboards, located at 2520 N. Federal Hwy. Please dress accordingly, in a bathing suit and be prepared to get wet, and also remember to bring sun protection, even on cooler days.
