ScubaBears Teaches Scuba to Local Residents

Have you ever gone on a cruise and wanted to join in on a Scuba excursion, but you aren’t certified? Well now there’s ScubaBears, started by Mike Oswald, a local resident, who loves to Scuba! He has a dive master certification and is an instructor. You can take lessons in his private, tropical pool, where beginners can try an underwater experience, testing out the feel of wearing the equipment, wearing a mask, and breathing underwater. Start out by snorkeling in a pool and work your way up to scuba diving in the ocean.

ScubaBears has several levels of education for you to try out. You can become a basic diver and scuba down to 40 feet (12 meters), or take your lessons to the next level and become an open-water diver and go deep! You can become a rescue diver, helping people in need during emergencies, or get your master diver certification. Mike can also teach you to become a dive master, which you can then get certified and teach others how to scuba.

Mike wants everyone to know, that you do not have to shave your beard or mustache to go scuba diving. He also says that you don’t have to worry about being overweight to enjoy scuba diving. He has a few articles on his website that you can read and learn more about the process, as well as pricing information for the books and individual or group classes.

ScubaBears has some great excursions planned, including diving into the reefs and wrecks off the coast of Fort Lauderdale. They will be planning some fun days out on the boat to go further out to sea and enjoy some more scuba fun. You can visit them on their website at www.ScubaBearsFTL.com and join their Facebook page for up-to-date information and event invites.
