Democrats in Wilton Manors & Oakland Park Unite!
With so much anxiety in today’s America, it is important for Democrats to come together and form a stronger union. You’re invited to enjoy an exciting night with fellow Democrats to celebrate our past presidents at the Annual OPWMDC President’s Day Gala on Monday, February 17, from 7 to 10pm, at Lips Nightclub.
Their Annual Gala is a fun night for members to get together and to introduce new members with a night of liberal entertainment. The ladies at Lips have put on a great show for the past several years, as well as their speakers, who bring light to the issues that are affecting our community. In the past, speakers have included Deerfield Mayoral Candidate, Gwyndolen Clarke-Reed, Florida Senator Dwight Bullard, as well as democratic candidates Tim Canova and Emma Collum, among others. Tickets to this year’s 2020 Gala are available for $65 for members and $85 for non-members and include your annual membership dues, dinner, guest speakers and live show.
Started in January 2013, the Oakland Park Democratic Club was formed to organize the representatives of the Democratic Party in Oakland Park. In 2019, the OPDC was re-branded to include Wilton Manors, and is now known as the Oakland Park Wilton Manors Democratic Club (OPWMDC). The Oakland Park Wilton Manors Democratic Club is committed to the democratic principles and goals of the Democratic Party from the National level through to our local community. Their objective is to improve the quality of life for all residents of the city of Oakland Park, and in turn, all America, by growing a unified partnership of Democratic members and Democratically elected leaders who support and promote these principles and goals as intended by the Constitution of the United States of America.
The OPWMDC meets on the third Monday of every month at 7pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church, located at 3970 NW 21st Avenue, in Oakland Park. Advertising spaces in their annual Gala booklet are available to promote your business; contact Lee Hinkle for more information. The OPWMDC group can be followed on Facebook and they have a new website at OPDCWM.club.
