Steven Shires: Long-Time Friend & Photographer to the Community
Very few people have stood the test of time in the Fort Lauderdale community. However, one man, Steven Shires, has been through the rough times and has come through them successfully as one of the best photographers this town has to offer.
Shires is best known for documenting bar and community events since 1998. The late Pompano Bill was a huge influence in his early years while working for various community magazines. Steve worked at the predecessor to South Florida Gay News, The Express Gay News, when his career began to flourish. Since then, Steve has shot covers for SFGN and fashion shoots for other publications. He has taken on freelance work for clients such as Tri-Rail, and most recently, he was the photographer at a fundraising function held for democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg. Steve is currently traveling around Florida shooting real estate photography for a banking client and is also the official photographer for the South Florida Symphony Orchestra.
Steve Shires recently held a couple showcases of his work at the South Florida Symphony Orchestra offices on Wilton Drive and each event was well-attended with many of his photography pieces being sold. He has several other shows coming up in 2020, and is currently seeking clients for his real estate, wedding and event photography. If you are looking for a professional photographer to enhance your image, whether you need someone to shoot the food you serve at your restaurant, or someone to shoot your holiday gatherings, Steven Shires is always professional and reputable.
