This holiday season, the City of Wilton Manors is hosting several fun events for residents and visitors to the Island City. This year, you can take part in three free, fun and festive events in the first half of December; Santa By The Sea, Movie Night on Wilton Drive and Santa Paws!
Santa By The Sea is a Wilton Manors tradition, unlike any other Broward County holiday event. On Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 5:30pm, Santa will take to the sea from the Colohatchee Park Boat Ramp at 1975 NE 15 Ave. Santa and his elves will sail around the island city to spread holiday cheer to meet and greet with people who live on the water, or stop by the city parks to wave to Santa.
On Friday, Dec. 13, at 7pm, the Leisure Services Department will bring the big screen to Hagen Park for Movies On the Drive! The holiday favorite that they will be showing is “It’s A Wonderful Life” starring Jimmy Stewart. This event will be held at 2020 Wilton Drive, where the park will be transformed into a movie theater under the stars, with an 18-foot inflatable movie screen and freshly popped popcorn. Everyone is encouraged to get there early to find a good viewing spot, bring your beach chairs and pillows, and get comfortable. Join the Facebook event for more information.
Santa Paws is coming to town! Make a memory with your pet on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 10am to 12 noon, at Colohatchee Dog Park, located at 1975 NE 15 Ave. This Santa Paws event is a fun opportunity to get a picture taken with Santa and your pet for your holiday family photos. Each dog and dog owner who visits will be spoiled with special treats.
Take your holiday selfies in special spots around Wilton Drive! There are a couple special spots like the park where the Wilton Manors Christmas tree is lit for the holidays, or the newly painted Welcome to Wilton Manors wall at Tropics Grille on NE 20 Street, where you can take a great photo with friends.
