The 25th Hurricane Showdown Tournament

Softball players from all around the United States will converge on Fort Lauderdale for the Thanksgiving weekend, from Friday November 29 to Sunday, December 1, for three days of fun, sun and play!

Teams will be making the trip from all over Florida, as well as from as far away as New York City and Toronto, Canada. Whether it is their first visit or their 25th visit, players will enjoy the games at Mills Pond Park, the parties, our amazing nightlife, our white sandy beaches, and the hundreds of gay-owned businesses and restaurants to enjoy.

This year, they have four different divisions from E (beginners) to B (advanced). On Friday, November 29, at Mills Pond Park, some players will be competing in a Homerun Derby contest, which is fun and exciting to watch. So you don’t have to play, but fans can still participate by watching the games under the lights on Friday and enjoy the festivities throughout the weekend! There will be great food and drinks on hand, just like at traditional baseball and softball games.

If you would like to volunteer, you can be a part of this excellent holiday weekend. It’s a great way to meet others from out of town, share in the experience and enjoy all the great events that Wilton Manors has to offer for the teams.

This event is hosted by the South Florida Amateur Athletic Association (SFAAA) and is sponsored by Hotspots Magazine. For more information, visit hurricaneshowdown.net and sfaaasoftball.com.
